Sidley see off Common U21 in friendly
(August 11, 2016)
Sidley United 4 - 3 Little Common U21 - Friendly
Sidley United overcame the SCFL side's U21 team, along with some senior players in the latest pre season friendly in something of a goal fest.
A Blues team which was mostly made up of last year's double winning side went in front when on 16 minutes Sidley Trialist lifted the ball over the on-rushing Common goalkeeper. Common equalised soon after with a neat passing move but Blues retook the lead after a good run by Elphick found Trialist who turned the ball home.
Further goals arrived before half time as Common hit back quickly but Blues went in at the break in front with a goal from James Bailey.
In the second half Common won and converted a penalty 7 minutes into the second half before a goal from Scrace on 59 minutes settled the contest.
A good workout against a strong opponent with some talented players on show. Our thanks to them for the game. Next up for Blues is a friendly against Hooe Sports next Wednesday evening. Kick off 6.30pm.
