Eastbourne Rangers Match Preview
(December 14, 2016)
Old rivalries will be restored on Saturday as Sidley travel to Eastbourne Rangers.
Rangers were promoted along with the Blues last season after pushing them all the way for the Division One title. Sidley came out on top twice out of the 3 matches we played last season, winning 2 - 0 and 1 - 0 at home but Rangers did win their home match on the 3G pitch by a 5 - 1 score line.
Both sides have had a few personnel changes since our last meeting though and so little can be gauged from last season's record.
Rangers come into the game third bottom with 14 points from 10 matches. However, so congested is the middle of the table that they are just 5 points behind the Blues in 4th with 3 matches in hand. Blues must start picking up some positive results or may find themselves sliding quickly down the table.
Last weekend Sidley held a half time lead but ultimately handed three points to Sedlescombe Rangers. Rangers meanwhile went out of the Sussex Intermediate Cup, losing 4 - 0 to higher level opponents Jarvis Brook.
Kick off at the Sports Park is 2.00pm. This match represents Sidley's 14th league game of the season, leaving us just 8 games after Christmas. As ever your support is appreciated.
