Old Hastonians Match Preview

Sidley United entertain familiar foes tomorrow as we welcome Old Hastonians to Hooe Rec.

Hastonians had a blistering start to the season after joining us in being promoted and at one stage sat top of the pile. They have had a few bad results lately, including last weeks 4 - 2 defeat at home by Robertsbridge United, but as we know from last season they are always a dangerous opponent.

This is the sides' first meeting this term after the scheduled opening day fixture was awarded to the Blues by the league. Despite us agreeing to Hastonians' request to play the game later in the season as they had many players unavailable due to a pre arranged event, the league were not accepting of both clubs' plans and awarded the points to Sidley.

The Blues enjoyed a 4 - 0 win at Rock A Nore last week with debutant Sean Baldwin grabbing a hat trick to go third in the table but the sides around us have games in hand. Hastonians are 5 points behind us but have 4 games more left to play.

Kick off at Hooe Rec is 2pm and supporters are advised to wrap up warm. There will though be hot drinks available from the tea bar to help fight off the expected chill.
