Westfield II Match Preview
(March 16, 2017)
Sidley United travel to second bottom Westfield II this Saturday looking for three points as they enter the final 3 games of their season.
Blues' hopes of lifting a trophy this season were ended last week after last week's semi final defeat to Hollington United in the Hastings FA Intermediate Cup.
That leaves Sidley with 3 games left in the Premier Division in which to try and finish as high up the table as possible, starting against a Westfield II side who come into the match second bottom and 12 points behind Ore Athletic.
The Westies face a struggle to lift themselves out of the relegation spots but have improved of late, with a recent win against Ore Athletic and a credible draw with Old Hastonians.
They also have one of the league's top sscorers in Connor Benton-Powell who has 12 strikes this season. Early in the season Blues came from behind to win the reverse fixture 3 - 2 thanks to goals from Ash Elphick, Gary Hempe and James Bailey.
Blues will be hoping to maintain their surprisingly good away form having suffered only 2 league defeats on the road all season.
Kick off at The Parish Field is 3.00pm and the referee is Nick Greenfield. Come along and support the boys.
