IN FOCUS: Hurstpierpoint

(August 26, 2019)

This Saturday sees the meeting of the champions as the East Sussex Football League winners face last season's Division One champions Hurstpierpoint.

Hurstpierpoint began their campaign in the Championship with a 3 - 0 win at Roffey II thanks to an own goal, a penalty and a goal from Sam Hayter.

The Blues thumped Mile Oak II 9 - 0 and have 6 points on the board after Polegate Town failed to raise a side on the opening day of the season.

Hurstpierpoint have their very own super fan in 8 year old Reuben who writes his own match reports which win, lose or draw we very much look forward to reading.

Although they (by their own admission) have had a poor pre-season they began with a win and a clean sheet and as the sides in the league are still generally something of an unknown quantity, the Blues will have to be fully focussed if they are to maintain their winning start.

Kick off at Hooe Rec is 2.00pm. Refreshments are available.
