CLUB STATEMENT

It is with regret that we have to announce the withdrawal of the Sidley United II from the East Sussex Football League Division Two.

After the departure of almost the entirety of the first team squad from last season, the club knew that we were entering a period of regeneration. New managerial appointments were made as last season's Reserves stepped up to become the new first team and 2 joint managers were appointed to guide an intended newly formed Reserves side.

However, despite the best efforts of the management team, with players having departed from the first team it has proved to be impossible to have enough players to consistently field two sides and so, with regret we have had to withdraw from the Second Division of the ESFL. We would like to be clear however that we will continue to field a team and play our matches in the ESFL Premier Division.

This decision has been made under duress to ensure that Sidley United FC can continue. The committee and management team remain positive about the future of the club and look forward to working with the committed players of the club as well as the exciting plans the club are working on to develop for the future.
