Blues go down to Hollington

(October 14, 2023)

Hollington United 2 - 0 Sidley United - ESFL Premier Division

Two former Mid Sussex champions met at The Gibbons and it was Hollington United who came out on top.

It was a former Sidley legend who put the home side in front as Dan Spice headed home a free kick on 25 minutes. Sidley struggled to create chances of note but managed to get to the break with the scoreline as it was.

But in the second half a penalty conceded by Ash Carey saw him sent off on 55 minutes and Casey Ham tucked home the spot kick to put the game to bed with Sidley unable to find a way back into the contest.

Sidley Team: Jack, May, Hempe, C Sherriff, Geogen, Carey, Croucher, O'Callaghan, Wade, Ball, T Atkin. Sub: Dangerfield.
