Blues Hammered at Hassocks / Reserves win mini derby

(September 18, 2010)

Sidley Crest

It was not a good day at the office for Lambsie's men as they were on the end of a crushing 5-0 defeat agaisnt a very impressive Hassocks side.

The game was a fairly even affair until just before half time when Chris Rea was receiving treatment and was not allowed waved back on in time as the hosts played the ball into the left back area where Rea would have been and from this the opening goal was scored.

This was ultimatley the turning point in the game, and Hassocks were alot more comfrtable in the second period and made there superiority count with a further 4 goals, and leave Lambsie alot to ponder before the next game on Tuesday night, the first at the Gullivers for the front side when they entertain St Francis Rangers who they defeated just two weeks earlier.

The Reserves kept up there unbeaten run with there third consecutive league win against local neighbours Bexhill United Reserves.

In front of decent crowd it was the visitors who settled the better early on but Josh Elliot-Noye headed the blues ahead midway through the first half, Jack Woodward replied though for the visitors to send the sides in level at half time.

The second half the blues superior fitness was clearly evident and Martin Denny struck his 5th goal in 4 games to secure the points and send the large crowd home happy.
