Sidley claim valuable three points
(October 30, 2010)
Sidley United got three very well earned points on Saturday as they beat Chichester CIty 2 -1.
The Blues took the lead in the first half through Terry Payne, clipping his finish over the goalkeeper. Just three minutes later, Jason Taylor doubled Sidley's lead as he raced through and slotted home.
In the second half, the game became very scrappy and Dan Cruickshank saw red for a fairly innnocous foul but Chichester also had a defender sent off shortly after. Chichester got a lifeline on 87 minutes as a mix up at the back saw Sean Kelly put into his own net. The pressure came and Chichester thought they had equalised deep into stoppage time but the goal was ruled out for a foul on Harry Killick in the goal.
Sidley Team: Killick, Chandler, Whiteman, Spice, Cruickshank, Dadswell, Kelly, Bird (Aston), Day (Denny), Payne (Miles), Taylor.
