Magic Miles secures Sidley win
(January 08, 2011)
Supersub Liam Miles rose from the bench to strike a late winner for Sidley as they came from behind to beat Chichester.
The Blues fell behind within four minutes as poor defending allowed the Chichester forward to turn in the box and poke home. After that, Sidley began to get into the game and they levelled right on the stroke of half time as Danny Spice rose to nod home a cross from the left.
In the second half it was all Sidley as they broke through time and again but failed to find the goal. Debutant Lee Jules was just wide with a header, Kevin Bird missed two glorious opportunities, Jason Taylor rounded the goalkeeper but his shot rolled just wide and Spice had a looping header finger tipped over as Sidley dominated.
But it wasn't until the last few minutes when they breakthrough came as a ball in landed at the feet of Miles, who thundered his volley in off the bar to spark great scenes as Sidley saw out the game.
Sidley Team: Killick, Whiteman (Chandler), Rea, Jules, Cruikshank (White), Spice, Kelly, Hales, Bird, Denny (Miles), Taylor.
