Sidley progress in Hastings Senior Cup

Sidley United progressed to the semi final of the Hastings and District Senior Cup after a 4 - 1 win over Division Two Westfield at Gullivers on Wednesday night.

The Blues took the lead after 5 minutes when Jason Taylor converted a Terry Payne cross. Terry Payne doubled the lead on twelve minutes from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the area.

Sidley could have added to the scoreline but had to wait until the hour mark when Taylor again found the net. Westfield scrambled a goal back but almost immediately Sean Kelly hit a fierce shot which hit a defender as it looped up into the net.

Sidley will now face Little Common later in the season, and bid to reach the final for the second year running.
