Sidley and Shoreham in bore draw
(March 12, 2011)
Sidley United moved into the top half of the table for the first time this season despite being held to a 0 - 0 draw by lowly Shoreham.
A Blues side missing Terry Payne and Kevin Barden up front, and with Jason Taylor only half-fit found it hard to build any momentum against an equally disappointing Shoreham, and the Blues did not manage a single shot on target in the first half.
In the second period, Sidley did have the ball in the net from a corner but the referee blew for an infringement. The defences ruled the day as chances were limited, though Sidley had to thank Gavin Bourne for a good late save.
Despite dropping points, other results saw Sidley United move into 10th place, their highest position in the table this season.
Sidley Team: Bourne, Chandler, Rea, Cruikshank, Spice, Kelly, McDonald (Dadswell), Bird (Parris), Cody, Miles, Taylor (Short).
