Blues end with great win at Pagham
(April 30, 2011)
Sidley United completed a successful season with an excellent 2 - 1 win away at high flying Pagham.
The Blues took the lead when Kevin Barden won a penalty on half an hour after being tripped in the box and Sean Kelly cooly dispatched to give Blues a half time lead.
Despite losing Dan Spice to injury, Sidley went 2 up in the second half when Chris Agutter got on the end of a Jason Taylor pull-back and the assistant referee flagged that the ball had crossed the line.
Pagham, who played some very neat football, pulled one back with 15 minutes to go when a free kick was flicked past Gavin Bourne, but Sidley held firm at the back in the face of the Pagham pressure to secure an excellent three points and a more than respectable league position in our first season back in Division One.
Sidley Team: Bourne, Chandler, Cody, Spice (Taylor), Jules, Kelly, Brand, Agutter, Barden (Parris), Bird, Miles.
