Blues suffer hard home night
(September 21, 2011)
Sidley United slipped to a 3 - 1 home defeat to Peacehaven & Telscombe in a game littered with refereeing decisions which went against the home side.
The Blues took the lead on 23 minutes when Scott McDonald headed home Paul Tuppeney's free kick. Just 4 minutes later the referee failed to give a foul for a high foot on Marc Munday and Peacehaven equalised seconds later.
At 1 - 1, the referee then showed Mark Chandler a second yellow card just as he was about to be substituted, apparently for saying something to him. With 10 men Peacehaven had more time and space and they went in front on 72 minutes and sealed the win 10 minutes later.
It was a better performance from the Blues but big decisions went against them tonight.
Sidley Team: Bourne, Cody, Chandler, Tuppeney, Cruikshank (Brand), Munday (C Morris), Agutter, Bird, Taylor, McDonald, S Morris (Barden)
