10 man Sidley and Selsey share spoils
(November 12, 2011)
Sidley United came away from the long trip to Selsey with a credible 1 - 1 draw after going down to 10 men in the second half.
The Blues started the better and Scott McDonald was unlucky to see his free kick come back off the crossbar. Despite this, clear cut chances in the first half were at a minimum.
In the second half, Selsey started stronger and deservedly took the lead. On the hour mark, Josh Willis was sent off after he was deemed to be the last man bringing down a Selsey forward. Paddy Cody took over between the sticks.
Despite being a man down, Sidley continued to press and on 80 minutes Lewis Hole was fouled in the area and Sidley had a penalty. Casey Ham converted. The Blues had a couple of chances to grab the winner but in the end will come away content with a point.
Sidley Team: Willis, Cody, Rea (Mote), S Morris, Cruikshank, Brand (White), Masters, Munday, McDonald, Hole, Ham.
