Poor Blues held to home draw
(December 03, 2011)
Sidley United dropped two points as they were held to a 1 - 1 draw by St Francis Rangers.
Blues took the lead after just 9 minutes; a nice move finished off by Lewis Hole from close range. But despite being comfortable in the first half, Sidley failed to build on the lead.
And in the second half, St Francis came out the better side. Blues were made to pay for failing to find a second goal on 55 minutes when Romaine's shot flashed past Callum Christie in the Sidley goal.
Sidley's flat performance second half saw them pump long balls forward but could easily have lost the game as a good Christie save kept the scores level. Ultimately another disappointing day at the office for the Blues, who will feel that this was points dropped today.
Sidley Team: Christie, Rea (Bird), Mote, S Morris, Cruikshank, Munday, Day, Funnell (Masters), S McDonald, Hole, Ham (Taylor)
