Five star Hassocks outclass Sidley
(December 10, 2011)
Sidley United were consigned to a crushing defeat by high-flying Hassocks by a 5 - 0 scoreline.
The Blues were on top in the opening 20 minutes and had Hassocks rattled early on but all that changed as a quickfire brace from Phil Gault had Hassocks two goals up.
Sidley barely had time to gather breath before finding themselves 3 down as Nathan Miles expertly curled home past Josh Willis. The fourth goal came right on the stroke of half time as Willis came to claim a free kick and missed the ball as it bounced straight in.
Ian Westlake made it 5 - 0 on 50 minutes with a deft finish past Willis and although Sidley twice later hit the woodwork Hassocks had taken their foot off the pedal long before the end.
Another disappointing result after a much improved performance from last week but again the Blues come away empty handed.
Sidley Team: Willis, Chandler, Mote, S Morris, Cruikshank (C McDonald), Munday, Masters, Lusted (White), Taylor, S McDonald, Hole (Ham)
