Lifeless Blues crushed by Redhill
(December 31, 2011)
Sidley United were left completely shattered after being easily brushed aside 5 - 1 at Redhill.
The Blues gave a first league start of the season to assistant manager Wayne Farrier but it had little positive effect as Sidley conceded just 30 seconds in - Gordon nodding in a header from a free kick. Andy Atkin doubled the lead 2 minutes later to leave Sidley shell-shocked.
Redhill cut through time and time again and missed numerous chances before Atkin did finally nod home the third. Sidley scored out of the blue as Lewis Hole lifted an effort over the on-rushing Chris May and into the net but it was scant consolation.
Things didn't improve much in the second half as Marc Munday was fortunate to avoid an early bath after two tangles with opposition players. Two further goals consigned Sidley to another defeat.
On to Monday's game at home to Ringmer where Sidley will have to pick themselves up and play an awful lot better if we are to register a win.
Sidley Team: Willis, Rea (Bird), Masters, Farrier, Cruikshank, Munday, Short, Taylor, McMinigal, Hole (Lusted), S Morris (Ham)
