Lancing sweep past Blues
(January 21, 2012)
Lancing completed the double over Sidley United this season as they convincingly won by a 3 - 0 scoreline.
Lancing started brightly and had the better of the opening exchange. Sidley grew into the game and had a good 5 minute spell but then Lancing took the lead. A fierce strike from the edge of the area was beaten out by Willis and from a tight angle Dan Turner fired into the net.
Lancing doubled their advantage shortly before half time as a through ball found Charlie Walker who skillfully turned and shot in one movement and his effort went in off the inside of the post.
In the second half, Walker sealed the game on 50 minutes as he fired past Willis high at the near post. Lancing somewhat took their foot off the pedal but Sidley only had some small half chances and never really looked like threatening a comeback.
Sidley Team: Willis, Chandler (S Morris), Mote, Cruikshank, Brand (Patten), Masters (Short), McMinigal, Lusted, Gould, Hole, Ham.
