Clarke brace earns Blues first home points
(October 28, 2012)
A Dominic Clarke brace earned Sidley United their first home league win of the season as they defeated high flying Redhill 2 - 0.
Clarke opened the scoring just 2 minutes in following a corner. Sidley's bright start rattled Redhill, who took a while to get into the game but finally called debutant goalkeeper Greg Nessling in to some smart saves.
Sidley felt they should have been awarded a penalty but Hales was instead booked for diving right at the end of the first half. But Sidley, who sometimes don't always replicate the first half performance, stood strong and doubled the lead on 76 minutes as Clarke headed home a Jason Taylor cross.
A good win for the Blues to follow on from Tuesday's success and a result that puts the Blues comfortably into mid table.
