Division One Round Up
(December 12, 2015)
With Sidley United receiving a walkover win today in the Sussex FA Junior Cup, our league rivals took their chance to put some points on the board and there were no shock results in the Division today.
Our closest rivals Old Hastonians enjoyed a comfortable afternoon as they beat struggling Ticehurst 6 - 1.
The visitors, who failed to raise a side against us a couple of weeks ago, arrived with just the 11 players and struggled to compete as Old Hastonians scored 4 goals in the first half.
The second half was a more even affair but it ended up 6 - 1 as Old Hastonians closed the gap at the top of the table to 11 points ahead of our meeting next week.
Eastbourne Rangers stayed in touch with a 5 - 0 win over The J.C.Tackleway. Rangers were knocked out of the Sussex FA Junior cup last week by Division Three side Burwash but responded with an excellent win.
Crowhurst, playing just their third league game of the season, moved off the foot of the table by thrashing Wadhurst United 6 - 1. Crowhurst are sure to rise up the table as they have many games in hand and will be contenders it appears.
As for Sidley, a week of rest and preparation ahead of the top of the table clash against Old Hastonians next Saturday. Kick off at Bexhill Road next week is 2pm and it would be great to have as many fans there as possible to help the boys to hopefully a 10th win from 10.
