Woodingdean Wanderers Match Preview
(March 03, 2016)
Sidley United will seek to book their place in the Sussex FA Cup Final on Saturday when they host Brighton & District League side Woodingdean Wanderers.
Woodingdean play in the same division as Midway 1948 FC, the team Blues beat 3 - 1 to book their place in this semi final. Woodingdean booked their place by coming from behind to beat Burwash 3 - 2. They have numerous games in hand in their league, which with a good run could see them top the table. Like us, they appear to be a side who don't score as many as others in their league but who have a decent defensive record.
Sidley will look to respond after last weekend's disappointment in going out of the Hastings FA Cup to Crowhurst after extra time. Blues had enough chances to win the game in 90 minutes but again were left to count the cost of not being prolific enough in front of goal. They will need to be clinical in the coming games if they are to avoid the season petering out.
The winners of this tie will face either Crowhurst or Wadhurst United/Montpelier Villa II in a final which will take place at Sussex headquarters at Lancing in an evening game under lights.
The game kicks off at 2.30pm and will be subject to extra time / penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes. The club encourages as many fans as possible to come and cheer us on towards hopefully a cup final.
